Static and dynamic QR codes: what changes after printing - Last Updated about a month ago

A static code stores its content directly in the QR pattern. Changing the text, contact details, or destination requires generating and distributing a new code. An already printed static code does not receive your later edits.

A dynamic code opens a hosted link or page. You manage the hosted content in TappyLinks. For example, Dynamic URL routes through a generated short link, while a biolink opens a hosted page. Preserve the same item when you want to continue using its existing code.

The type picker labels each choice static or dynamic. Static choices include Static Text / URL, VCard, Location, Call, WIFI, and several communication types. Email and SMS have both static and dynamic variants.

Dynamic availability can depend on subscription and scan limits. Keep the item active and test the existing printed code after a change.
